CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — A 44-year-old Cedar Rapids man accused of trying to kill his neighbors has been sentenced to seven years in prison.
Joseph Pham was sentenced this week. Pham had pleaded guilty to reduced charges in a deal with prosecutors.
Pham had been charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of intimidation with a dangerous weapon. Prosecutors said he shot Brian Wilson and fired at two others on June 9, 2012.
Pham pleaded guilty to felony intimidation and to reckless use of a firearm.
Police said the shooting stemmed for a disagreement between Pham and Wilson. Police said there were several complaint calls made in 2012 by Wilson and Pham regarding loud music, rude gestures, broken windows and feces being thrown.
