Wet, wintry weather won’t deter The Benson Law Center from moving forward with its planned open house from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. this afternoon, Thursday, at its just-opened office space at 6035 Binney St., said Patrick Cavanaugh, a partner in The Cavanaugh Law Firm.
“The weather may impede people’s plans to come to the open house but we’ll have the doors open,” Cavanaugh said.
Along with Cavanaugh, former downtown law firms Hunegs, LeNeave & Kvas and The Law Office of James Regan have set up shop in the 4,150-square-foot building.
The new legal office assumes the space once occupied by teen nightclub Sandy’s Escape, which opened on New Year’s Eve 1964. More recently, the building was owned by John Respeliers and was home to offices.
Along with a newly renovated interior, Cavanaugh said the space offers clients better access to parking than there was downtown. He said the resurgent Benson neighborhood is familiar to clients, even those traveling from Sarpy County.
“Law hasn’t had a big professional presence in Benson historically, but I think this is going to be great for our business,” Cavanaugh said.
