LINCOLN — Nebraska’s Jaycie Johnson has been invited to the U.S. under-20 women’s national team training camp Saturday to March 2 in Lakewood Ranch, Fla.
NU sophomore midfielder Katie Kraeutner also will be in training the next few weeks as she travels to Vancouver to participate with Canada’s under-20 national team.
The U-20 women’s national team called 24 players to the squad’s first training camp after winning the 2014 CONCACAF U-20 women’s championship in January. The camp will feature two matches against China (Feb. 26, March 1) along with a scrimmage against Florida (Feb. 26).
Johnson led the 2013 Big Ten champions with 17 goals, second most in Nebraska history for freshman, and tallied seven game-winning goals.
Kraeutner started all 24 matches at midfield. She had five goals and four assists.
