Run in your skivvies at Cupid's Undie Run this weekend

Valentine's Day undies are no longer relegated to the bedroom. Hundreds of half-naked runners will don their skivvies outside during Cupid's Undie Run in Omaha this weekend.

It's a PG-13 event – thongs and see-through undergarments are not allowed.

Midtown Crossing is hosting the one-mile run that raises money for the Children's Tumor Foundation. The national running series raised $1.3 million for the charity last year.

Saturday will mark Omaha's first time hosting the event. About 300 people will attend. Organizers expect to raise close to $15,000.

Though runners do not have to raise money for the charity, there are incentives to do so. Runners who raise $50, for example, will receive a pair of custom undies, and those who raise $150 will have access to the VIP bar.

The pre-party starts at noon, and the run is at 2 p.m. Then the party continues until 4 p.m.

There will be paid bars on site and a heated tent at Turner Park, near 31st Avenue and Farnam Street.

The weather will warm up for the event: The high is 53 degrees on Saturday, according to AccuWeather Inc., The World-Herald's weather consultant.

Register online or in person the day of the event for $50. You must be 21 years old to sign up.
