Millard West’s top athletes gathered Tuesday for a signing ceremony, nearly a week after snow delayed the original event.
Eighteen athletes signed letters last Wednesday, one short of the school’s previous previous high.
Athletic Director Chris Loofe said it’s an important day, so the school tried to recreate it for the athletes.
“They all wore their college gear,’’ he said. “It was a nice opportunity to be with their classmates.’’
The group signed copies of a World-Herald article that ran on signing day. It was made into a giant poster that will be hung in the front entry way.
About 75 coaches, family and friends attended what they called the Millard West signing photo shoot.
Loofe said the athletes introduced themselves and told what college they would be attending and what sport they would be playing.
They told why they chose that college and thanked the most important people in their lives.
“It was pretty neat,’’ Loofe said.
