Creighton evens record with pair of shutouts

TEMPE, Ariz. — The Creighton softball team bounced back from an 0-2 start to the season with a pair of shutouts Friday at the Kajikawa Classic.

The Bluejays defeated Western Michigan 9-0 in five innings, including an eight-run third inning. The Jays blanked Boise State 4-0 in the later game.

Pitchers Becca Changstrom and Alexis Cantu combined to allow 11 hits and two walks over the two games.

Senior Ellen Homan provided much of the offense, going 3 for 4 with a three-run home run, two singles and two walks. She scored four of Creighton’s runs.
