Ralston High School’s Post Prom Committee is embarking on its annual fundraising campaign for the party that follows the school’s May 3 prom dance.
The post-prom party is a drug- and alcohol-free event organized as a safe alternative to celebrating prom night.
This year, the RHS Post Prom Committee estimates about 450 students will attend the event.
With a cost of about $30 per student in attendance, the committee looks for community support to sustain the event. Donations of money, gift certificates or merchandise are all accepted. Donations are tax-deductible, as the Post-Prom Committee is a nonprofit organization.
The committee is hoping to raise $15,000 for this year’s party.
Businesses and individuals interested in making a donation to sustain the post-prom party can mail checks (payable to Ralston Post Prom Committee) to 5874 S. 104th Ave., Omaha, NE 68127.
If making a donation of merchandise that needs to be picked up, call Kathy Evans at 402-672-6821.
