A pair of Council Bluffs women face charges after a traffic stop that revealed they were in a stolen car and illegally in possession of a stun gun.
About 1:17 a.m. Thursday, a Council Bluffs police officer attempted to pull over a 1997 Ford Taurus with the headlights off at North 32nd Street and Avenue B. The vehicle was driven by Katie M.W. Morrison, 26, with Desarae L. Carroll, 28, as a passenger.
When the officer initiated the stop, the vehicle sped off and pulled into a nearby parking lot. The pair eventually surrendered.
The women had illegal prescription drugs — hydrocodone — and an activated stun gun in their possession.
The pair were arrested on suspicion of second-degree theft, possession of drug equipment, possession of weapons and unlawful possession of prescription drugs.
