SIDNEY, Iowa (AP) — Five men have been charged with illegally harvesting channel catfish in southwest Iowa.
The State Department of Natural Resources said the men were seen Jan. 19 loading a catch onto a truck. Officials said it's illegal to keep game fish from the Missouri River on a commercial fishing license. The men are each charged with 18 counts of illegal method of take.
The men are Larkin Achenbach of Pacific Junction, 18; Lester Achenbach of Thurman, 57; Leland Achenbach of Thurman, 54; Frankie “Lyle” Achenbach of Riverton, 50; and James Achenbach of Thurman, 79.
