Omaha author Rainbow Rowell signs 2-book deal for graphic novels

Omaha author and comic book fan Rainbow Rowell has signed a deal with First Second to write two graphic novels in the young adult prose fiction category.

Her two 2013 YA novels, “Eleanor & Park” and “Fangirl,” were critical and reader successes. “Eleanor & Park” was  just named a Michael L. Printz Award honor book last week.

The first of the graphic novels will be illustrated by Canadian Faith Erin Hicks, the creator of “Friends With Boys” and “Nothing Can Possibly Go Wrong.”
