Record-setting receiver Connor Niles of Class 3-A champion Sioux City Heelan is among the group of western Iowa football players on the rosters for this year’s Iowa Shrine Bowl.
The annual all-star game will be at 4 p.m. July 27 at the UNI-Dome in Cedar Falls.
The last time Niles was on the turf there, he tied the 3-A title-game record for receptions and broke the mark for receiving yards while helping the Crusaders dismantle Cedar Rapids Washington 47-14.
He’ll be joined on the North squad by Ronald Nash of Sioux City East and Max Stewart of Sioux City North.
The rest of the western Iowa participants will play for the South. That list includes Ben Wellman of Tri-Center, Trevor Frain of Creston, Chris Osborn of Sidney, Spencer Smith of Glenwood, Brandon Colpitts of Abraham Lincoln, Nick Peppers of Exira-EHK, San Brincks of Carroll Kuemper, Keegan Longabaugh of Southwest Valley, Joe Thraen of IKM-Manning and Alex Stenbo of Carroll.
Creston’s Brian Morrison is an assistant coach for the South.
