The Omaha Children’s Museum set an attendance record in 2013, with more than 282,000 visits recorded. The next-highest year was 2011, with about 269,000 visits.
Museum officials attribute the museum’s growth to increased memberships, popular permanent exhibits and increased use of its on-site educational programs. A temporary exhibit, “A Bug’s World,” attracted 110,000 visits between May 25 and Sept. 8.
The museum also served more than 370,000 individuals through its off-site educational offerings and events.
“We are excited to see what 2014 has in store for us,” Lindy Hoyer, executive director, said in a press release.
