Day care and preschool franchise expands to La Vista

The Omaha area’s second Primrose School is now open in La Vista.

We reported on the franchised day care and private preschool back in July, when it was under construction at the northwest corner of 96th Street and Giles Road. The 12,000-square-foot school, which is able to serve more than 180 kids, opened its doors on Jan. 13.

Owners Joe and Theresa Thibodeau will host a grand opening event for local families on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring face painting, giveaways, a balloon artist and school tours.

The Gymnastics Express – a gymnastics facility on wheels with music, props and kid-friendly gymnastics equipment -- will be there. Local children’s author Marie Callegari will be available for a meet-and-greet and book signing of her work, "I Am a Wish: The Incredibly True Story of the Dandelion."

Rep. Lee Terry and La Vista Mayor Douglas Kindig plan to attend the event.
