SEWARD, Neb. — Three former Midwest Golden Gloves champions are scheduled to headline the Miller Lite Boxing Championships on Saturday night at the Seward County Fairgrounds.
Three-time Midwest champion Oliver Rivera of Grand Island is slated to fight in the main event with four-time titlist Dylan Henry of Lincoln and two-time winner Raymond Bernt of Spalding set to appear in other bouts on the card, which includes boxers from five states.
Tickets for the amateur event, which is expected to include 12 to 16 fights, are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. They are on sale at Spare Time Lounge in Seward, Complete Nutrition in Lincoln and online at Tix.com.
More than 1,000 tickets have already been sold, making it one of the larger amateur shows in Nebraska in recent years.
Victory Boxing banquet set for Saturday
Victory Boxing Club in south Omaha is holding a fundraising banquet Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bellevue Christian Center. The event will feature guest speakers while also rewarding some of the clubs top fighters. Among the Victory boxers scheduled to be recognized are Luis Monarrez, Brandon Ariza, Frankie Armanderiz and Francisco Delgadillo.
