Police arrested two Omahans, including a 19-year-old, Monday in a gun and drugs case.
Authorities said the arrests occurred at 5:35 p.m. at North 41st Street and Ames Avenue.
Police said Parish Swift, 28, was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a stolen firearm. Also, Jarqueze Swift, 19, was arrested on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm, felony carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana of less than one ounce and having an open container.
Officers conducted a traffic stop near 41st Street and Ames Avenue for a traffic violation. Police spotted an open container of alcohol on the driver, Parish Swift. Officers then found a stolen firearm and marijuana in the vehicle. The passenger, Jarqueze Swift, was also in possession of a firearm.
