Omaha artist Mary Zicafoose will speak about her elaborate tapestry work Wednesday at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Zicafoose’s free lecture, titled “Designing a Life: Weaving and Art,” will be held in Room 11 of the Home Economics Building, located on the UNL campus near the intersection of Center Drive and North 35th Street. The talk starts at 6 p.m. A reception with Zicafoose will follow on the second floor outside the Robert Hillestad Textiles Gallery.
Her current exhibition, titled “Mountains and Ghosts: New Ikat Tapestries and Prints,” is on view at the gallery through Jan. 17.
Joslyn has new Sunday hours
A Sunday trip to the art museum just got a little bit easier.
The Joslyn Art Museum will now open at 10 a.m. on Sunday, which will give museum attendees an extra two hours.
The Joslyn is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. every day but Mondays and Thursdays. It is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays and closed on Mondays.
