Two men were injured Sunday night in what police believe was a drive-by shooting, Omaha Police Lt. Staci Witkowski said.
Police were called to reports of shots fired at 12564 Oak Plaza about 11:10 p.m. Two men reported being shot while sitting in a parked car. They then went inside a nearby apartment complex and called for help.
Both suffered gunshot wounds, Witkowski said.
Isaac Dak, 24, was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in serious condition for a gunshot wound in his leg, police said. Emmanuel Deng, 26, suffered a minor injury and refused medical treatment.
Earlier Sunday, about 4:15 a.m., officers responded to a radio call to investigate a report of shots fired near 40th and Lake Streets, with a shooting victim possibly en route to Creighton University Medical Center by private vehicle.
Officers found the victim, James Calloway, 40, at CUMC, and police said his injury was not life-threatening.
Calloway told police that he was leaving a residence near 40th and Lake when someone in a blue vehicle began shooting at him.
The investigations into both shootings continue, police said.
