Piccolo’s Florist weighs sale

Piccolo’s Florist near 84th Street and West Dodge Road may be on the move soon.

General Manager Frank Piccolo said the owners have seen interest in the building in the past and decided to put it up for sale. “If we get a good sale, we’ll move. Otherwise, we’ll stay where we’re at.”

If the building does sell, Piccolo said, the store would probably move farther west, although he did not have a specific location in mind.

“I think the population base is more fitting to our clientele out west,” he said, adding that getting in and out of the West Dodge Road location can be difficult. “It’s tremendous exposure but ... it’s probably not as conducive to retail there as some other spots might be.”

Piccolo’s also has a store at 8335 Maple St.
