An 11-year-old guitarist from the Omaha area has become a YouTube sensation after performing a solo on stage with heavy metal band Steel Panther.
Aidan Fisher, who has performed the National Anthem several times at Werner Park, joined the band at Midland Theatre in Kansas City, Mo., on Dec. 19.
Last June in Kansas City, Aidan, who takes guitar lessons at School of Rock in Omaha, also got stage time with another rock band: Guns N' Roses.
As the band launched into its last song, “Paradise City,” the group's head of security approached Aidan and his father, Chris Fisher. They were told Axl Rose was inviting the boy on stage.
Aidan didn't play, but he stood with the whole band — between Axl and guitarist DJ Ashba — and took a bow with them to close out the concert.
Aidan's December performance with Steel Panther apparently was quite a hit, according to a report posted on the Mirror, the online site of the British tabloid the Daily Mirror.
A clip of Aidan's solo quickly went viral, the Mirror reported. The video has received more than 1 million views on YouTube through Wednesday, Jan. 1.
