A fourth Dunkin' Donuts shop is planned for the Omaha area.
The City of Omaha on Friday received an application for a building permit for a Dunkin' Donuts at 4709 L St.
The location, a 4,500-square-foot building formerly used as an auto garage, is near other fast food restaurants including KFC, Long John Silvers and Burger King. It's three blocks east of the Walmart Neighborhood Market that opened on L Street this year.
The applicant is Galaxy Ventures II, a company registered to Bryce Bares, owner of of Dunkin' Donuts franchisee QSR Services.
QSR Services owns the Dunkin' Donuts franchise rights in the Omaha area south of Interstate 80 and has a development agreement to open a total of nine shops in Omaha and Lincoln by 2017. QSR already has opened two location: 10730 Q St. in Omaha, and at 72nd Street and Cornhusker Road in Papillion.
Another franchisee, Savoureux Corp., this summer opened the first of 12 planned stores north of I-80, at 144th and Pacific Streets.
