The man returned to the Kum and Go on Thursday and purchased an item. An employee followed the man to his residence and called police. Laverne Brightman, 57, was arrested on one count of robbery.
— An arrest Wednesday about 2 a.m. of Devondre Glover, 20, at 36th and Paxton Streets.
Officers on patrol in the area of 42nd and Browne Streets spotted an eastbound stolen vehicle. Police attempted to make a traffic stop near 42nd Street and Paxton Boulevard. Officers said Glover refused to stop, and police initially declared it a pursuit but then backed off due to the driver's reckless behavior.
About 40 minutes later, police found the vehicle near 44th and Jaynes Streets. Officers approached four people who were near the vehicle, and one of them ran, dropping a gun as he fled. After a short foot chase, officers arrested Glover on suspicion of felony flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, theft by receiving, obstructing an officer and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
