Omaha police officer Kevin Wiese will be raising money for three days for the Special Olympics during the Cage a Cop fundraiser at the Village Pointe shopping center near 168th Street and West Dodge Road.
Last year, Wiese raised $5,000 for the Special Olympics, and his goal is to at least match that amount Friday through Sunday.
Donations will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday near the Scooter’s at Village Pointe or at the web site www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/cage-a-cop/cage-a-cop-2013
The Cage a Cop fundraiser is associated with the Law Enforcement Torch Run organization, which raises money for Special Olympics. In 2012, Nebraska law enforcement officers raised $265,000 during the torch run.
