Ralston police on Tuesday released a sketch of one of the men they say is responsible for the shooting death of a 42-year-old woman.
Deputy Chief Marc Leonardo said a witness was able to describe one of the two men who broke into Amiee J. Kearns' apartment because his mask fell off.
Police described the man being sought as in his 20s.
Leonardo said investigators have gathered blood found on a broken window that might belong to one of the men. It's being tested at the state crime lab.
Kearns was killed Oct. 28 inside her apartment at 4748 S. 83rd St. Police have said the slaying did not appear random, and that Kearns likely knew her killers.
Another woman who was in the apartment was threatened but not hurt.
The men were seen leaving in a light blue, silver or gray Lincoln Continental, possibly a model from the 1970s or 1980s.
Kearns was a grandmother and mother of three sons. She moved to Omaha about a year ago from St. Joseph, Mo.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 402-444-STOP.
Ralston police are offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to an arrest.
