Ponca State Park is hosting Winterfest each Saturday through Dec. 28.
There will be crafts and activities from 10 a.m. to noon, cookie decorating from 1 to 2 p.m., classic holiday movies from 2 to 4 p.m., and hayrack rides from 5 to 6 p.m. Special events scheduled in December include the Holiday Elf Magic Show Saturday, a Christmas bird count Dec. 14, wine and cheese tasting Dec. 21, and the Fruitcake Fling and 3K Snow Run Quest for the Yule Log on Dec. 28.
On Saturdays in January and February, the focus will switch to winter outdoor activities and winter bird feeding. A park entry permit is required on each vehicle entering the park. More information available at 402-755-2284, OutdoorNebraska.gov or find the park on Facebook.

The Nebraska Game and Parks is hosting a free archery event Saturday at Platte River State Park. All ages and experience levels are invited to the Roger G. Sykes Outdoor Heritage Education Complex.
