NORMAN, Okla. — Foul trouble and poor shooting plagued Creighton on Sunday, as the Bluejays fell to No. 18 Oklahoma 80-52.
Each of Creighton’s four post players — Alyssa Kamphaus, Sarah Nelson, Alexis Akin-Otiko and Brianna Rollerson — picked up three fouls in the first half, when Oklahoma shot 15 free throws and built a lead as big as 21 points.
The Sooners (5-2) led 44-28 at halftime and extended that margin to as many as 35 points in the second half.
Sharane Campbell led the Sooners. The junior guard scored a career-high 25 points on 10 for 14 shooting.
Creighton made six field goals in the second half. For the game, the Bluejays made 15 of 71 from the field (21.1 percent), including 11 of 41 from beyond the arc.
Marissa Janning was the only Bluejay in double figures, equaling a career-high with six 3-pointers to finish with 18 points.
Aaryn Ellenberg added 13 points and 10 rebounds for OU, while Nicole Griffin had 17 points and nine boards.
Creighton was whistled for 25 fouls while the Sooners committed 18. Oklahoma scored 20 points on 30 free throws.
The Bluejays return home to face Brigham Young at 2:05 p.m. Saturday at Sokol Arena.
