Construction is underway on a new senior living community in Elkhorn.

The Grand Reserve at Elkhorn, an independent living facility for people 55 and older, will feature 111 one- and two-bedroom units.

The facility, located just southwest of 192nd Street and West Maple Road, is expected to be completed by April or May of 2014, said property manager Tracy Marcinski.

Amenities will include a clubhouse with a community room and kitchen, a fitness center, a 40-seat movie theater, wellness and fitness classes and close proximity to a nearby walking trail.

The target market is middle-class retirees, Marcinski said. The facility is currently pre-leasing. Rents range from $1,150 to $1,500 per month and include some utilities.
