LAWRENCE, Kan. — Nebraska used a strong third day at the Kansas Classic to finish second in the six-team meet.
The Huskers had been third through the first two days, but leapfrogged Iowa State on Sunday. Kansas won the classic with 932.5 points. Nebraska had 795.5 points and Iowa State finished third with 760.5. UNO had 238 points to finish fifth.
Nebraska’s 400 free relay team finished first. Alex Bilunas, Bria Deveaux, Shannon Guy and Taryn Collura won in 3:27.43. The quartet also won the 200 free relay on Friday.
Other Husker winners included Natalie Morris in the 200 butterfly (2:03.33), Collura in the 100 free (51.18) and 50 free (23.60), Deveaux in the 100 butterfly (56.56) and Jacqueline Juffer, Guy, Morris and Collura in the 200 medley (1:44.60).
UNO’s top finisher was Maddie Hutt, who placed second in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.12).
