Iowa Western won both the men's and women's national junior college soccer championships Saturday.
The men's team, seeded No. 1, finished with a 25-0 record after defeating second-seeded Tyler Junior College in a penalty-kick shootout. The match, played in Tyler, Texas, was tied 1-1 after two overtimes.
The No. 1 Reiver women (20-2-1) defeated third-seeded Navarro 3-1 in Melbourne, Fla., to claim the national championship.
Iowa Western's Kelsey East was named the tournament's most valuable goalkeeper, and teammate Celia Jimenez was named the most valuable forward.
