The Joslyn Castle Turkey Trot is Thanksgiving Day.
“Bring the family down before you start eating the turkey,” said Mike Ewoldt, owner of Peak Performance. Peak Performance is helping organize the race, though it benefits the Joslyn Castle.
The Joslyn Castle, which was built in 1903, is an Omaha Landmark Historic Structure and on the National Register of Historic Places.
The course starts at Turner Park at Midtown Crossing in Omaha. It's a little flatter this year. It runs more north and south than east and west.
“We're trying to make it a little easier for people,” Ewoldt said.
Organizers are expecting between 300 and 400 people.
Register for $30 online through Nov. 26 or in person for $35 at packet pick-up and on race morning. Packet pick-up is Nov. 27 at the Joslyn Castle, near 39th and Davenport Streets.
