Monday morning, Union Pacific Railroad employees cut and transported a 45-foot-tall blue spruce from the home of Kevin and Linda Redlinger in Millard to the Durham Museum for the annual Christmas celebration.
The tree was delivered to the former Union Station, where it will be put on display in the Durham's great hall.
The tree continues a tradition begun more than 75 years ago by Union Pacific, when the railroad cut trees from its right of way in the Pacific Northwest and sent them back to the Omaha station.
Designers from David M. Mangelsen's will decorate the tree in time for the Nov. 29 tree-lighting ceremony.
