The pizza shop moving into the old Mojo Smokehouse & Ales space in Aksarben Village has changed its name.
What was the Railyard Pizza and Tavern is now Dudley's Pizza and Tavern.
"We changed the name," said owner Timothy Malm, "because we ran into some confusion."
Was it associated with Lincoln's Railyard District? Or the Railcar restaurant in west Omaha? Or the Localmotive Food Truck?
Malm said after they started seeing enough of these question on social media, they decided to look into a different name, this one rooted in Aksarben history.
The new name comes from Dudley Smith, who, in 1895, coined the term "Aksarben," saying the Knights of Aksarben were going to turn the state around.
The pizza shop located at 2110 S. 67th St. still plans to be open by mid-December.
Dudley's will serve specialty pizzas, sandwiches, burgers and salads. All of the pizzas on the menu can be made as sub sandwiches, and the restaurant doesn't take itself too seriously -- freshly baked chocolate chip cookies are on both the appetizer and dessert menus.
