An open house and ribbon cutting today will introduce Omaha’s new Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham.

The hotel at 360 S. 108th Ave. in the Old Mill area -- which previously was under a different name and management -- will host the event from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The 130-room, three-story hotel has undergone a five-month, $2.5 million renovation.

“The open house event is a chance for us to open our doors to current and prospective business customers and reveal the upgrades we’ve made to the hotel,” said Amy La Motte, hotel general manager.

Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham calls itself a chain of extended-stay hotels that provide a “home away from home.” Amenities include a business center and fully equipped kitchens.
