4 children charged with assault on fellow student that was posted on Internet

BURLINGTON, Iowa (AP) — Four Burlington children have been charged in connection with an assault on another student that was recorded and posted on the Internet.

Three of the four are 13 years old and one is 12. They’ve been charged with serious assault and disorderly conduct. Police said the attack occurred Sunday near the Burlington school administration building on the edge of Perkins Park.

The video showed the students surrounding, taunting and punching the boy.

Burlington Superintendent Jane Evans said the attackers have been suspended.
