An Omaha man critically injured by gunfire Sunday night near 16th and Yates Streets has been identified by police as Derrick T. Anderson.
Anderson, 28, was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center after he was shot about 8:45 p.m. A hospital spokeswoman said no information on his condition is being released, but Omaha police said his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
Police said Anderson was sitting in a parked vehicle when he was shot.
Kevin McCoy, 41, suffered non-life-threatening injuries in an earlier shooting Sunday. McCoy told police he sitting in a vehicle near 36th Street and Himebaugh Avenue about 4 a.m. when he was struck by gunfire.
He went to Creighton University Medical Center in a private vehicle.
