Nebraska State Patrol investigators say they’ve seen a drop in the number of Douglas County liquor establishments caught selling alcohol to minors.
In an Oct. 18 check of 54 bars, convenience stores and grocery stores, only one served to a minor, a 16-year-old.
Normally during the State Patrol’s quarterly checks, the number of violations is about a half-dozen, said investigator Nic Jaworski.
One bar was ticketed on suspicion of selling to a minor: The VIP Lounge near 90th and Arbor Streets.
Jaworski said a VIP bartender was ticketed, and the bar will have a hearing before the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission.
