Craft beer-lovers, here's a gem 45 minutes north of Omaha
By Sarah Baker Hansen / World-Herald staff writer

So we’ve all seen the recent explosion of breweries taking over the city. And it turns out they aren’t just in Omaha. Brick Street Brewing Company is now open in Woodbine, Iowa, about 45 minutes north. The brewery has craft beer on tap, canned beer and soda, and wine drinkers can bring their own bottle along with their own snacks to share in the tasting room.

A beer brewing Christmas gift got Justin and Nicole Eilers started in home brewing, which they did for years before they opened the brewery.

Currently on tap are PK’s Porter and a Pumpkin Spice Ale, among others. A rotation of winter and holiday themed brews including an Apple Cranberry Wheat, Holiday Ale and a Snowdrift Seasonal will be available soon. The brewery plans to feature seasonal selections throughout the year, in addition to the standard selection, which will include a wheat, blonde ale, pale ale, IPA and a porter or stout.

For more information and hours, call 712-592-1271 or visit brickstreetbrewing.com.
