Four young women qualified Saturday to advance to the Miss Nebraska competition in June.
The Miss Omaha/Miss Douglas County Scholarship Pageant was held Saturday at the Jewish Community Center. Teen contestants also competed for titles.
Fifteen competed in the Miss Omaha/Miss Douglas County competition. Three young women won the major titles and a $500 scholarship:
» Miss Omaha is Payton Merritt of Lincoln. The 17-year-old is a senior at Lincoln East High School. She is the daughter of Jason and Christy Merritt.
» Miss Douglas County is Megan Swanson of Omaha. She is a junior at Belmont University and is 20 years old. Her parents are Sean and Julia Swanson.
» Miss River City is Rachel Foehlinger of Omaha. Foehlinger, 23, is a senior at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She is the daughter of Bob and Sue Foehlinger.
In addition, five teens vied for the title of Omaha Outstanding Teen. The winner, who received $200 scholarships, was:
» Miss Omaha Outstanding Teen is Morgan Holen of Omaha. She attends Elkhorn South High School.
All contestants were judged in five areas: personal interview, physical fitness, on-stage question, evening wear and talent.
