The couple that steals together goes to jail together.
A Douglas County judge on Thursday set bail at $20,000 for both Jeffrey A. Johnson and Kristin V. Hunt, the duo accused of stealing a TV and a framed picture from a fundraiser held for the family of homicide victim Andrea Kruger.
That means Johnson and Hunt must each pay $2,000 to be released from jail.
Johnson and Hunt are charged with the Sept. 27 felony theft of a 50-inch plasma TV and a picture of Nebraska's Memorial Stadium.
They were identified selling the items at a pawn shop. Johnson, 50, tried to sell the items first but didn't have proper identification, so Hunt, 26, took charge, prosecutors said Thursday.
Kruger, 33, was shot and killed Aug. 21 near 168th and Fort Streets.
The proceeds from the Kruger family fundraiser will go to Andrea's husband, Michael-Ryan Kruger, and the Krugers' children, Jadyn, Ava and Hartley.
