Good news for moviegoers: Those still struggling to shake that "Gravity" high can crash-land at sea with "Captain Phillips."

"Captain Phillips," the story of the Maersk Alabama vessel that was boarded by Somali pirates in 2009, marks the fourth consecutive weekend with a potential Best Picture nomination, trailing "Prisoners," "Rush" and "Gravity." "Phillips" stars Tom Hanks and is directed by Paul Greengrass, the "Bourne" director in his first pic since "Green Zone" flopped (fiscally) in 2010.

"Gravity," which scored an October-record $55.6 million in its opening weekend, could very well win this weekend's box office toll, too. (And maybe even next weekend's, considering "Escape Plan" and horror flick "Carrie" are primed for modest openings.)

For fans in search of valueless entertainment, look no further than Robert Rodriguez's "Machete Kills," the follow-up to 2010's "Machete." The first grossed an impressive $44.1 million worldwide on a meager $10.5 million production budget. The sequel seems to embrace its ridiculousness, with a cast of rock stars (some ostracized) that includes Mel Gibson, Cuba Gooding Jr., Antonio Banderas, Lady Gaga and Carlos Estevez, aka The Artist Formerly Known as Charlie Sheen.

On the indie circuit, the critically acclaimed "Short Term 12" comes to Film Streams. And for the hipster video-on-demand crowd, KEANU REEVES!!

Let's get to the trailers. Click here for a full list of Omaha-area showtimes.
