Nebraska Crossing Outlets in Gretna, due to open in mid-November, has been named the “Official Outlet Center of Nebraska Athletics,” by Husker IMG Sports Marketing, the University of Nebraska's multimedia partner.
The 350,000-square-foot shopping center at the intersection of Interstate 80 and U.S. Highways 6 and 31 received the designation as part of its sponsorship of Husker IMG.
“With so many potential consumers who attend Nebraska athletic venues traveling down I-80, it makes sense to promote Nebraska Crossing Outlets during games and other events,” said Heidi Cuca, senior account executive at Husker IMG Sports Marketing. Parent company IMG College partners include the NCAA and colleges and universities nationwide.
The partnership will give Nebraska Crossing Outlets a multimedia presence at Memorial Stadium, the Husker Nation Pavilion, the Devaney Center, Pinnacle Bank Arena, Nebraska Alumni Association's Champions Club, Huskers.com and HuskerFanRewards.com.
Nebraska Crossing is being developed by majority owner Frank Krejci of Omaha's Century Development and Rod Yates of OTB Destination, a former backup split end on the 1983 Husker team.
The outlet mall will open Nov. 15 with a grand opening giveaway of a 2014 Range Rover and a $5,000 shopping spree for one lucky visitor who opts into Nebraska Crossing's mobile retail network, Nexoutlets.com.
Nexoutlets.com's one-gigabit broadband network will be powered by CenturyLink, also a Husker IMG sponsor. The network will allow visitors to use their mobile devices to connect with the center's participating retailers for discounts and deals.
“We think it's a win-win for everyone,” Yates said. “We are excited to connect the brands and deals at Nebraska Crossing Outlets with the hundreds of thousands of loyal fans of Nebraska athletics.”
The retail lineup at the new mall includes Borsheims Boutique, Coach, Michael Kors, J. Crew, Kate Spade New York, Polo Ralph Lauren, Adidas, Nike, Under Armour and Eddie Bauer, as well as eateries.
