Eight volunteers from the Nebraska and southwest Iowa chapter of the American Red Cross have headed to Colorado to help with disaster relief.
Red Cross spokeswoman Liz Dorland said the volunteers are from Omaha, Lincoln and Chadron, Neb. They are taking emergency response vehicles to help with bottled water, meals, snacks, cleanup supplies and first aid.
Iowa units from Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, Fort Dodge, Sioux City and Waterloo will also help out with flood relief operations.
