Husker fans, gear up for a warm day at Memorial Stadium.
Rick Chermok, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service's office in Valley, Neb., said highs will reach the upper-90s in Lincoln today.
Chermok's recommendations for fans: stay hydrated and wear lighter colors, perhaps white instead of red.
In the Omaha metro area, highs will reach the mid-90s today through Monday, Chermok said. Storms to our northwest mean a very slim chance of rain early this afternoon and then late this evening, he said.
It is unlikely the rain makes its way farther south to Lincoln, Chermok said.
Looking ahead to next week, a storm front could linger in the Omaha area Tuesday through Wednesday, Chermok said, bringing a chance of rain. Increased cloud cover should translate to decreasing temperatures in the lower-80s, he said.
