Steve Samuelson of Fremont is two matches from a sweep of this year's major state senior golf events.
The Nebraska Senior Amateur winner joined 2012 match-play runner-up Jay Muller of Bennington and Omahans Chris Mangan and Jeff Epstein in reaching Wednesday's semifinals at Pines Country Club in Valley. First-round play Tuesday was delayed 3½ hours because of storms.
Muller plays Samuelson and Mangan meets Epstein, with the winners squaring off later Wednesday for the title.

Haley Thiele makes cut at Big I nationals
PINEHURST, N.C. — Haley Thiele of Wahoo was the only one of the three Nebraskans in the 45th annual Big I national youth championships to make the 36-hole cut.
Thiele is tied for 15th in the girls division at 11-over-par 153. Missing the cut in the boys division were Alex Schaake of Omaha and Mitchell Klooz of Laurel.
White wins Nebraska PGA seniors championship
ASHLAND, Neb. — Jim White of Lincoln took a one-stroke victory Tuesday in the Nebraska Section Senior PGA Professional Championship at Quarry Oaks to lead four sectional qualifiers for the national finals in October.
Also qualifying were past champions Mike Schuchart of Lincoln and Rob Brown and Brian Kuta of Omaha.
