School administrator Emily Huyck at Montessori Parents Co-op for Children in Omaha got a new hairdo this week.
Huyck had promised students that she would get a mohawk if they raised $500 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
The students more than doubled the goal, bringing in $1,037.
A crowd gathered to watch Huyck get her new 'do. Some of the older students spoke to the gathering, explaining why they raised funds for the cause.
“I thought all of their stories were really cool and inspiring. A lot of them gave their birthday money and allowance,” Huyck said.
