Jury selection will resume Tuesday in the case of a former OPS teacher accused of groping his students.
Prosecutors and defense attorneys began quizzing members of the jury pool Monday on their views on Omaha Public Schools, teachers, law enforcement and other subjects.
The attorneys are expected to complete selection Tuesday in the case of Shad M. Knutson, a former social studies teacher at Nathan Hale Middle School. Prosecutors say Knutson sent thousands of text messages and made hundreds of phone calls to the girls who, at the time, were either current or former Hale students.
They allege that Knutson, who eventually was fired, used the phone calls and text messages to groom the teens, ages 13 to 15, into inappropriate relationships.
Knutson has pleaded not guilty to seven felony counts. His trial is expected to last all week.
