A piece of Kearney's past has been replicated at the Great Platte River Road Archway Monument.
The Hammer Motel once stood on Highway 30, which follows the route of the old Lincoln Highway.
Gary Roubicek, archway executive director, said the replica of the sign is part of a display commemorating the Lincoln Highway.
The Hammer family operated the motel from 1947 to 1987.
The building then served as University of Nebraska at Kearney student housing until 1995, when it was razed.
